TESTIMONIALS: IN THEIR OWN WORDS

Tue 11/01/2005

If you liked his first movie, you will be mesmerized by his second motion picture. Tusamehe, literally meaning “Forgive Us”, raises the bar of Swahili movies to a new level - The digital age.”
The dialog in TUSAMEHE will enhance your AIDS awareness and compel you to reflect more soberly on how to avoid being entangled in the pandemic of AIDS which is preventable.
(Swalehe, Msuya - Mshale - African Community Newspaper - Minneapolis, November, 2005)

“The performances by Twin Cities-based actors are highly affecting, and Kibira certainly succeeds in making the world appear much smaller than it really is”
(Charlie Hobart) - City Pages - Minneapolis, November 11, 2005

Josiah:
I was so moved by the film but luckily the gentleman who died in the movie was sitting in front of me so I didn't completely fall apart! You had some great messages for all. Thank you so much for sharing this with me.
Here is the contact at Bethel. Her name is Susie Brooks. Good luck and please call me and let me know how you are doing.
I also sent this information to the College of St. Catherine and expect to get a contact there.

Best to you,
Barb

Mon 11/14/2005 9:13 AM - JOB WELL DONE

My friends and I enjoyed the move. You should have planned to screen it one more time. Word went out and will still go out. What the next plans on the movie.

I met a friend of mine called Salome, she reminded me that I was Moses and she was Salome… The rest is history.

Congratulations on a well played movie.

Moses

Congrats Mzee! It exceeded everyone's expectation! We are so proud to see one of our very own is making 'headlines" in everyone's mouth and mind! (In my humble opinion, a much better job than "Bongoland")

Keep up the great work! Sorry nilirush kutoka bila kukupongeza…
All the best in the next stage!

God Bless us!

Josiah.
It was a great show. The message was touching and I could hear people behind me sneezing not because it was cold but crying. I remember to get chilled by the death of - I liked the strongness of Salome despite all that.

Keep it up.
Joe.

Josiah,
I really enjoyed your film. I thought the messages were superb and delivered/integrated into the dialogue very smoothly. Some of the messages that really stood out to me as being critical to HIV education for African communities in MN were that HIV is a concern here in the States, treatment is available and can prevent mother to child transmission and improve the quality and length of life for those infected, medication adherence is important, and the image of what "social support" might look like (from the pastor and friends in the film for the infected couple). The film I think also takes steps to decrease the stigma of HIV.

Congratulations on a job well done with the film.

Josiah ,
Hongera sana! Tusamehe is a compelling, disturbing, and profoundly moving film. I am also taken with the compassion and gentleness with which you depict the people and events. Well done! Thanks for sharing the film.

Hi Josiah,

I was there in the little theatre watching the movie, and unfortunately I could not talk to you as I arrived late and left as soon as it was over!!!
I should take this opportunity to congratulate you all, you really did a wonderful job. I was surprised how you was able to integrate "the culture" of bongo people to that update extent!! it was really good.

Best regards,
Bishanga
